UNIT 1 NAVIGATION

Lessons Objective :

• Log on to a SAP System
• Navigate a basic path and personalize our views in a SAP System
• Search for information and get hel using the different help methods in the SAP System

Business Example :

In order efficiently use the SAP System, new users need to familiarize them selves with the screens and navigation on the SAP System and define their own personal settings based on their individual business requitmen.

Resume :

SAP System are client system. The client concept enables the parallel operation, in one system, of several enterprise that are independent of each other in business terms. a client is in organizational terms, an independent unit in the system.

Multiple logon :

• Continue with the current logon and end any other session ( s ) of the same user in the system
• Continue with the logon without ending other session ( s ) in the system ( logged in the system )
• Terminate current logon attempt

In SAP Easy Access, we can create a favorites list containing :

• Transactions
• Files
• Web Address

There are some transactions code in the SAP System, such as :

• /n - ends the current transaction
• /o - opens a new session
• /oXXX - where XXX is a transaction code takes we to the specified transaction code such as 
• /opa30 will open a new session at the transaction code /pa30 - mantain master data.

Status Bar :

Left end of the system bar : Error and other system messages display here.

Right end of the status bar : Sytem informatin display here. Choose this field to display the following system information :

          -Sytem

          - Client

          - User

          - Program

          - Transaction

          - Response Time

Second Status Field : This field tells us what server we are connected to.

Third Status Field : This field displays the data entry mode. Choose this field to switch between Insert (INS) and Overwrite (OVW) modes.

The other informations about SAP System :

• We can create a session at any time. 
• We do not lose any data in the sessions that you are already open.
• Use F1 for help on fields, menus, functions, and messages.
• Use F4 for information on what values we can enter.
